How fast can you get out for a no-heat or no-cool emergency?
Same-day for almost every no-heat call in winter and no-cool call in summer. Ricky picks up the phone (or texts back fast) and routes the truck — multiple reviews mention same-day or sub-24-hour response, including Sundays during peak season.
Do you give free in-home replacement estimates?
Yes — every full-system replacement (AC, furnace, mini-split, tankless water heater) gets an in-home walk-through and a written quote. No "trust me, this is what you need" pressure tactics — you see the math, the brand options, and the warranty terms before you sign anything.
What brands do you install and service?
Service: all major brands. For new installs Ricky's preferred high-efficiency brand for the Southern Utah climate is AC Pro (a few customer reviews mention going with AC Pro) — but the actual recommendation depends on your home, your budget, and the available rebates. Not the brand with the biggest spiff.
Can you install a mini-split in my garage?
Yes — and it's one of Ricky's most-installed services in this area. Southern Utah garages without HVAC are unusable June through September. A single-zone mini-split with a wall-mounted indoor head and an outdoor condenser typically installs in a day. See Andy Willis's review on the homepage for a real example.
Do you do new construction and custom homes?
Yes — Ricky works directly with general contractors and custom-home builders across Washington County. Full HVAC design, ductwork layout (before drywall), system sizing, equipment install, thermostat wiring, and final commissioning. The business card even lists "New Construction" and "Custom Homes" as core services.
Why does an air purifier or compressor blanket matter?
Whole-home air purifiers (installed in the main system) genuinely change the indoor air — multiple reviews mention the smell of the home after install. Compressor blankets extend the outdoor unit's life by 3-5 years in the Southern Utah sun by shielding the compressor from direct UV. Both are small additions to a normal service visit.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Dearman and Sons HVAC is licensed and insured (it's right there on the business card). Certificate of insurance available on request, especially for general contractors and property managers running multiple jobs.
What areas do you serve?
Headquartered in Ivins — Ricky covers St. George, Santa Clara, Washington, Hurricane, La Verkin, Toquerville, Apple Valley, Dammeron Valley, Veyo, Central, Leeds, Bloomington, plus regular runs to Cedar City. Outside the radius? Call anyway — he goes where the work is.
